The climbing enthusiast from Munich was out climbing on the public holiday, in Heimstetten's climbing centre. It is possible to climb up to a height of 3 metres without safety ropes.
It was about 4.45 PM when the accident occured and the woman's strength abandoned her. First her right and then her left grip became loose before she fell two metres and landed onto a gym mat.
The 31 year old suffered severe injuries and a resue helicopter took her to a hospital.
This is the second climbing accident within a few weeks. A 26 year old man fell 15 metres from a climbing wall recently.
