1860 steals win in the final minutes - Positive news has been hard to come by for TSV 1860 München this season.  So when there is something to celebrate, the team will take every chance to milk it.

Rising star Kevin Volland scored a goal in the 88th minute on Friday against 1.FC Union Berlin - their first after 345 minutes in league play - to win one on the road and keep the team's spirits afloat.

The victory keeps the Lions on the cusp of the top half of the table in 10th, still 11 points behind FC Augsburg who occupy the promotion playoff spot.  Augsburg host Erzebirge Aue tonight in the second division of the German Bundesliga.

1860 have a chance to start a winning streak as they host Red-White Oberhausen on Friday at the Allianz Arean.  Oberhausen sit 15th, a goal away from relegation.  The two clubs played to a goalless draw back on October 17th.  Kickoff is at 18:00.

Bayern Basketball continue win streak - Jonathan Wallace scored 21 points and Aleksandar Nadjfeji added 19 points to lead FC Bayern Basketball over the ETB Wohnbau Baskets 87-81 in Essen Saturday night.  The win is the team's 16th consecutive and puts them 5 points clear of the next team, making promotion to the Basketball Bundesliga more of a reality.

Christopher Jordan Alexander of ETB led his team with 21 points as well, but it wasn't enough in front of 2,600 fans.  Essen remain at the bottom of the ProA table.

Despite their standing in the league, they were bouyed by the home crowd and the attention of playing Bayern.  The score went back and forth between the clubs, but in the end Bayern were able to hold off their hosts with free-throws and took home the win.

Robert Garrett and Robert Maras both contributed 10 points to help overcome the five double-figure scorers from Essen.

Bayern return home to "Munich Square Garden" (Olympic Eissportzentrum) on Sunday, March 6th to host VfL Kirchheim.  The clubs played a high-scoring, high-octane affair in Teck back on November 13th.  Dirk Bauermann's club had to score 100 points to hold off the Knights.  The same is expected this time around, tip off at 17:00.

No problem for Haching

Unterhaching, February 27 - Generali Haching win 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-21) against VC Gotha and is ready to play next Sunday the German Cup final against VfB Friedrichshafen.

The most important thing after the match was "nobody was injured" said head coach Mihai Paduretu. The Bavarians began the match solid as usual with Denis Kaliberda and Leo Dos Santos back in the starting lineup.  The second set was won without difficulties. In the third set Gotha played better in the reception and created some strong attacks to hope to win one set. Haching however were too strong and won the final set.

"We are focused on the final match against Friedrichshafen but it was good that my team played good today," said Paduretu. Gotha's head coach Jörg Schulz said, "Haching is better, we gave ours best."  Tomas Kmet and Paul Carroll were the best scorers in the match and Carroll earned the MVP of the Match for his efforts.

Haching will travel to the Gerry Weber Stadium in Westfalen to take on arch rivals Friedrichshafen to defend their DVV title that they have won the past two years, including a win against the team from the Bodensee back in 2009.  VfB have ended Haching's league season the past five seasons, the last two years in the finals.  First serve at 15:30.
